The 100 years of Malherbe: Wally Dieng and the class of 1992 back in Caen
For the 100th anniversary of Stade Malherbe de Caen, as a curtain-raiser to an SM Caen – AC Milan match, two Malherbe generations reunited. The 1992 side — the UEFA Cup adventure — counted Wally Dieng in its defence.
Alongside players such as Stéphane Paille, Xavier Gravelaine, Pascal Vahirua, Fabrice Divert and Raphaël Guerreiro, Wally Dieng was among the defenders of the 1992 class gathered for the occasion, under Daniel Jeandupeux.
This kind of reunion says something about Wally Dieng's trajectory: a lasting attachment to the clubs that develop players and to the idea of a sporting family.
It is that same conviction — that a club is, above all, bonds that last — that runs through the way FSE supports its players today.
